Goodyear has always strived to achieve 100 percent compliance with its environmental goals and objectives. Goodyear's environmental policy requires the company to set goals that seek continuous improvement in reducing the environmental impact of its operations by conserving natural resources, minimising waste and emissions, reusing and recycling materials and managing energy use.
Goodyear is among a number of tyre and automotive companies that report environmental data, documenting its progress in reducing the amount of materials that could pose harm to the environment. It anticipates making further use of its data in the coming year in accordance with guidelines of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, an international organisation that Goodyear joined in 2006.
Goodyear & Dunlop Tyres is committed to protecting the environment, as well as the communities in which we operate. Our policies and processes for waste tyre disposal is to have the tyres collected, transported to recyclers, and recycled at Australia’s leading and most reputable recyclers. Our tyre recyclers dispose of waste tyres in accordance with environmental regulations and we work actively with our industry bodies, the Australian Tyre Industry Council and the Tyre Stewardship Association, as well as the Federal Government, to ensure more sustainable solutions are adopted and advanced. We also advocate to our aligned independent dealers who operate under our retail programs to adopt these same practices and we will continually support them to do so.
