Wheel Alignment

Has your vehicle hit a pothole recently? It can cause misalignment. Our tyre and auto experts will make front-end or rear-end adjustments to bring your wheels back to their proper alignment. Booking your wheel alignment appointment at your nearest Goodyear Autocare will help improve your vehicle’s steering and target proper tread wear.

Wheel Alignment – More Details

If a vehicle’s wheel is out of alignment, it may cause tyre wear and affect its handling

Your vehicle is properly aligned when all suspension and steering components are sound, and when the tyre and wheel assemblies are running straight and true. Proper alignment is necessary for even tread wear and precise steering.

Uneven front- or rear-tyre wear, or changes in your vehicle’s handling or steering response (i.e. pulling to one side) can indicate misalignment. Your vehicle may need a ‘front-end’ alignment or a ‘four-wheel’ alignment, depending on the symptoms you are experiencing.

A wheel alignment adjusts your vehicle’s suspension – not the tyres or wheels themselves — to impact the angles at which your tyres make contact with the road. This helps to ensure proper tread wear and precise steering.

At Goodyear Autocare, we recommend getting a wheel alignment at least once a year, or if:

  • You have installed a new set of tyres
  • Your vehicle hit a pothole or a steep kerb
  • You have been in an accident or collision
