Puncture Repair

Our tyre and auto experts will carefully provide an internal and external inspection of your tyre to help discover any potential damage. If the puncture is repairable, we’ll fix it as long as the damage is confined to the tread. If the tyre is not repairable we will help you out with a replacement.

Puncture Repair – More Details

Our tyre experts can fix most punctures

Do you have a tyre that’s flat, punctured, or losing pressure? Bring it to one of our Goodyear Autocare locations near you. If we can repair your tyre without replacing it, we’ll fix it in accordance with industry standards by plugging or patching any punctures from the inside. Most punctures, nail holes or cuts up to 6mm can be repaired by a trained tyre specialist, provided the damage is limited to the tread.

If your tyre cannot be repaired, as it has tread punctures larger than 6mm, has sidewall punctures, or is worn below the tread wear indicator bars located on your tyre, we will let you know that it is time to buy a new tyre. Should you choose to purchase with us, our tyre and auto experts at Goodyear Autocare will help you find a quality new tyre suited to your needs, rebalance your tyres, and reset your tyre-pressure monitoring system as needed.

We do not recommend driving on a flat tyre unless you have EMT (Extended Mobility Technology) or run-on-flat (ROF) tyres. Continuing to drive on a flat tyre could cause damage to the rim and tyre, while also providing less traction and introducing a potentially hazardous situation.

Run-on-flat tyres are tyres that allow you to continue driving on a flat tyre for a longer period of time than a non-run-on-flat tyre. Note that run-on-flat tyres have specific speed and distance limitations, depending on the manufacturer specifications. Additionally, they provide optimal convenience and save storage space in your vehicle since you don’t have to carry a spare. Run-on-flat tyres can be purchased from most tyre manufacturers, including Goodyear. Keep in mind that not all vehicles can be fitted with run-on-flat tyres, so visit one of our local Goodyear Autocare stores, and our tyre and auto experts will help you determine which tyres fit your vehicle.

Keep an eye on your tyres by inspecting them at least once a month for signs of damage. If you see damage, or if you are experiencing continuous pressure loss, come see us, so we can inspect the tyre in question and determine if a repair can be made.
